I'm making my first cake to sell this weekend. I've never made a WASC before, and I'm looking for a good filling recipe for it.
I usually fill mine with whatever I ice it with because I don't use perishable fillings because I don't refrigerate my cakes and I don't want to.
I use to think a filling was something different than just what you put between the layers I never knew that putting icing between the layers of a cake is considered "filling". I always thought if someone filled a cake it meant they did something special to it. duh....
Anyway, some use jam, preserves, custards, fresh fruit (sliced fruit with no added sugar or water, etc.)
