Everyone on here uses No Fail Sugar Cookies, NFSC, under the recipe section. I like it for sugar cookies as it does hold it shape and tastes good.

I really like this one:
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Soft-Sugar-Cookies-V/Detail.aspx

I add 1/2 cup more flour and bake at 325 to help the cookies hold their shape. I know a lot of people like the NFSC but I could never get it to hold its shape.

I made these cookies using the above recipe:

NFSC - it works the best!

Check out this really great website http://www.universityofcookie.com/

she does a nice job of teaching videos.

As previous posters have said, many people like the NFSC recipe (I use this one), but other people like KHalstead's Modified NFSC or Penny's cookie recipe too. Here are links to NFSC and Penny's

KHalstead's is in a thread in the cookie forum called KHalstead's Modified NFSC.

I also love the NFSC but I also love Gemini's Peanut Butter Rollout cookie, the Cholcolate Brownie Rollout recipe ( this is so fantastic), and the modified NFSC with a few of my own additions. It is so nice to have several batches of these recipes in the freezer, so I don't have so many things to do when a "cookie crisis" arises.
I also made a batch of Cookie Crazies sour cream sugar cookie dough and can't wait to try that. I could only hope that my cookies would look half as good as hers with that recipe icon_smile.gif

Just wondering if you found a recipe you like yet? If not let me know I have one you might want to try. I have spent the past 4 months trying every rolled sugar cookie recipe I could find - looking for that perfect one. I guess, my family is way to picky - they vetoed all of them! Finally - I found one!! I knew this one was it when I had to grab the last 4, to put away to decorate! (I will be making these for my DD wedding favors)

Karen, is your recipe posted on CakeCentral anywhere? I, too, am on the hunt for the perfect sugar cookie recipe and try a new one every time....
