I finally figured out the differences between fondant and gumpaste and now I see Silk and Sugar paste? What is the difference and which is better for what designs?

I believe it's the UK/European word for fondant. I've seen it in a number of publications from Europe.

Yep,

Sugarpaste= fondant

Flowerpaste=gum paste

Silk paste, Platinum paste=special blend of sort of a gum paste that can be rolled super, super thin and often remains flexible longer.
