I am making a small wedding cake for my SIL, two tiers iced in buttercream. How do you get the second tier on without messing up the bottom tier? Also should I stack before transport or after?

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Jes

Use your spatula to put the next tier in place. Here is an excel sheet with photos of a step by step that hows you how I do it.

ok, not sure if the attachment is open-able. If not, send me your regular EMAIL and I'll email it to you as an attachment.

I leave the dowels/straws sticking up out of the bottom tier about an inch, set the top tier on there, and gravity will take it down. NO finger prints, and works like a charm. Sometimes you will have to help the small tiers get all the way down (the 6" ones) I just take a toothpick on each side where the board is and gently push down for those.
