3 full time, 3 part time. Two of the part timers are still learning, so they're just doing fruit topped cheesecakes and cupcakes. I'm the other part timer, but I've been told I can work up to full time. Although I don't know if I'm going to do that because I've got a few family and friends that asked me to do shower cakes and grad cakes for them this summer.

How many decorators do you have?

well, I didn't have ANY grad cakes this week....but I had to bake 26 cakes for my orders LOL

I had birthdays, bridal showers, baby shower, etc. but no grad cakes. Just finished the last of the cakes at 2am this morning....boy do I need a rest. However I've got tastings on Monday and Tuesday so I'll be baking again tonight! UGH

I remember, not too long ago when I would get like 1 cake a month! Since we've been in this huge "recession" my cake business has been booming!!!!

I've had customers tell me they thought my "calendar app" on my website was messed up because some entire months were blocked off with the exception of a couple tues. and weds. I went and looked and double checked with my cake boss and said "nope, it's correct!" then the lady complained and said, why don't you take more than ONE cake order before your booked?" I told her "I do, I take up to 500 servings of cake in a weekend before I'm "booked".

I've got a couple crazy weeks ahead of me too.

The craziest grad cake week is going to be June 12th (that weekend) I've got so many orders for that ONE date that people are booking up all the way to wed. of that week (having me deliver their cakes days in advance) just so I can do their cake, it's craziness........I'm not even that good at this yet! Although, I"m certainly getting enough practice....every couple of cakes I turn out a good one and people seem to only notice those ones I guess lol. Oh well, go with the flow!

Yes God is Good!! Too Good to me sometimes lol

Okay so I just took over running a bakery and cafe. I am trying to get into doing cakes. My store has done one birthday cake, and we have an order for one graduation cake. We are fairly new but I was hoping for a bigger demand for grad cakes. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to increase my order intake. Also what is everyones average for pricing on sheets, and rounds? Please Help!!!

this Saturday we had 56 cakes, 42 dz cupcakes and 36 dz decorated sugar cookies.

Sunday 10 cakes and 15 dz cookies.

the rest of the week was super hectic too.

As for gaining grad orders. we host a grad open house every spring and invite area grads and their parents to sample our cake and check out cake ideas we have for the season.
Works great We have been full with grad orders since May 1st
