to put a rose nail in the pan before putting the cake in the oven. icon_cry.gif It was in for 25 minutes when I realized it! The sides are baking nicely, but the center is still pretty wet. Oh well, I stuck one in, point down. Hopefully it will work that way and the sides don't get dry before the center bakes. icon_sad.gif

Would love to hear if it works 'cause I've done that too. Good luck!

Well....It kind of worked and kind of didn't. The center did catch up with the sides, the cake had a flat top and the sides didn't overbake. BUT....the cake baked up around the flat part of the nail a little bit, so that part of the cake didn't cook as well as the rest. Once the middle of the cake caught up with the sides, I should have taken the nail out then. I think that would have solved the problem.
