Have made a 4" long electric guitar as a topper for a cake due on Sat but have no idea what to do about strings! I bought some nylon jewellery thread and this seems ideal but I cannot get it to stick. I am reluctant to use normal glue even though it's only a topper! Any suggestions would be much appreciated! icon_smile.gif

Black licorice strings. Spagetti dipped in icing or chocolate to color. Royal icing might work also. Good luck.

try dipping the thread into egg whites and then stick it in place (even tape the edges down if you have to) once the egg whites dry (they'll dry crystal clear) they will sort of seal in the thread.

You can also get silver sewing thread if your jewlry thread isn't cooperating!

Thanks for the replies.

Decided to remake the whole thing and used florist wire sprayed with PME pearl spray. Still a bit thick for strings but better than no strings at all!
