Hello,

Does anyone know how long modeling chocolate keeps for?

I made some two weeks ago, but still have some left over. I now need it for a cake I am doing this week. The modeling chocolate is made from candy melts and corn syrup and has been store wrapped in sran wrap, placed in a plastic bag, and then into a plastic tub. Think it is still ok to use for this cake or should I make more?

Thanks!!!

Yes, I would say it's still good to use. You did god with the wrapping and keeping it away from moisture which is pretty much what I do with my fondant.

I agree - candy clay has a long shelf life if kept well-wrapped and away from heat.

Modelling chocolate has a shelf life of about 6 months.

Thank you so much guys. I can now be confident the guest won't get sick. Well, off the modeling chocolate anyway........
