Edible Silver/chrome Icing Paint?

I was wondering if there is anyway of painting icing so that it looks shiny silver or even chrome?

You can paint gray-tinted fondant with a mixture of silver luster dust and vodka or with silver airbrush liquid. You can airbrush buttercream with the silver airbrush liquid.

Yes, starting with grey is important.

If you want FDA approved edible coloring, then you need to use Crystal Colors Silver pearl. It goes a looooong way when mixed with lemon extract or clear drinking alcohol (Everclear, vodka, gin, white rum).
