Need Help Dinosaur Cake

To me, this looks like they used cake parts and molded them into the tail and head shape. Is that what it looks like to you?

What would you recommend adding to the cake scraps to make them moldable like this? I'm guessing it would be somewhat like a cake ball but I haven't made those and don't know if those recipes would be firm enough.

Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated icon_lol.gif I know some would do the head and tail with rice krispy treats but I've never used those yet and not sure if I want to try on something this big.
