I had a friend send me a picture of a wedding cake she likes...it is covered in Gumpaste flowers, trailing down each tier. She would like this style, but with real flowers. I've never used real flowers...so my question is can I use them to "trail"down the cake...will they be too heavy to stick in the sides of the tiers? How would I go about doing that?[/img]

You can "pin" them in individually with florist wire that's bent in half like a bobby-pin.

Lighter flowers anchor to the sides of each tier, the ivy/leaves cascade down from the ledges of each tier, the heaviest flowers sit directly on the edges where their weight isn't an issue.
