Hello cake friends,
I tried the Amazing Lemon Cake from a mix (posted in the recipes section)today. There was no baking time listed and although I can usually tell by looking when my scratch cakes are done, I really wasn't sure on this one. I was so afraid of overbaking it, I think I actually ended up underbaking it
I divided the batter in to 2- 9" rounds (2" high) and baked at 325 deg. for about 46 minutes. They looked perfect when they came out of the pans...a nice golden color, no sinking, etc. but when I cut into one, the bottom was a bit "gummy". Do you think it was underbaked, or perhaps I didn't mix it enough? I'm not used to using the cake and pudding mixes....I mixed it for the time specified in the recipe on medium speed of my KA.
I loved the flavor of this cake (and it just couldn't be easier ), so I'd love to get the baking time right. Any tips would be greatly appreciated...thanks!
Marsha
