I used the mat on my fondant cake for the first time last night. I rolled the fondant, then placed the mat, and imprinted. Then I covered the cake. Problems encountered; 1. The fondant stuck to the mat. 2. In order to smoothly cover the square cake, I had to work with the fondant. As I did this the impression faded in the spots I had to work on (ie. corners) So my question is, can I roll my fondant out, cover my cake, and THEN do the impression after the fondant is on the cake? Anyone have any experience with this? Would the embossing be just as sharp? Thanks for any help!
