I know there has been a million posts on the cricut cake, but I have one more. (Couldn't find an answer when I searched.)

I have decided to buy either the cake or the expression, but I want to know if you can use the cake with scrapbook paper (or other things like that). As I understand it, you need to have the mat that has adhesive on one side to use it with paper. I want to be able to cut cupcake holders, and general scrapbooking stuff if I get the cake. Note: I am a hobby baker and would use different blades/mats when cutting edible or nonedible things.

I plan on purchasing MTC so I can cut my own designs, but I really like the cartidge that comes with the cake to get me started. The price for the cake is 279 now at my Michaels and the cheapest I could find the expression was 259. I am wondering if I should pay the 20 more to get the cake cartridges.

Anyone know where I could get a better price? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks for your help!

I haven't heard of it cheaper than that. Yes you can use the cake for paper.
