Our town has a community days coming up (basically a small carnival/games/parade for the weekend) and I was asked to donate a cake for the cake wheel. Any ideas for an eye catching cake that won't cost me an arm and a leg to make? There will be many other baked goods but I want to make something that will stand out from the rest!

How about:
-Red and yellow fondant stripes and a small "carnival booth" for a topper
-A "ride ticket" border on a colorful fondant covered cake

Someone here has a photo of a candy apple shaped/designed cake. Looks so cute and carnival-like. The popcorn bag cakes also look very festive and carnival-like.
