I have a bride who wants whipped filling (just cool whip and jello pudding mixed together). She asked if I could throw some strawberries in there. I don't know if this would make the cake slimy inside. Should I use fresh or frozen?

FRESH !.. Frozen fruit will be death of your cake.. the more moisture you put in the cake you are asking for "SLIME"

I'd go fresh also. I only ever use frozen if I'm going to make a puree that will be blended into something else.

Definitely fresh! Afunk is right that frozen one are great pureed and added to things, but this filling definitely needs fresh strawberries.
