It's an emergency...the cake is being picked up within the hour and the board is too big to close my freezer door. I made a FBCT and now the waxed paper won't come off! I've fixed this before by freezing the cake briefly but this one is too big! AAACK!
Try using a blowdryer on the coolest setting and point it to the area where the wax paper won't come off.
Otherwise, I guess try to very gently peel the wax paper off.......
I wound up having to scrap the FBCT and pipe what was left by hand. I'm not happy with it but I didn't have a choice.
To add insult to injury, my uncle handed me $40 for this cake, which is my cousin's groom's cake for his wedding tonight. It's two 9 x 13s plus the sleeves. I spent around $15 for ingredients, meaning I earned about $4.00 an hour after expenses.
Ouch! Two lessons in one day: measure the freezer and the transfer before creating and tell uncle the price before you bake. I feel for you.
I always figure - at least I got paid for my 'lesson', no matter how small my profit was.
