I was wondering how long gel colors last? I am making a wedding cake next month and have some of the colors needed but I'm not sure when I purchased them. They have been used so they are not new. TIA.

As far as I know they don't go bad...I've had my gel colors for just about a year now and they're perfectly fine. I did notice that the older colors seemed a bit more thick and not as liquidy as a new one. Still fine to use, though icon_smile.gif

They'll pretty much last forever. If you see them getting a little thick, add some glycerine.

I have some gels going back to 9/07 and they are still fine. I just give them a good stir with a toothpick. What you want to be careful of is cross contamination. If your toothpick has touched any kind of food be sure to get a new one before you put it back in the gel container.
