Hi, Thanx, I am just new to cakes and LOVE this website.

I was hoping to make 3D balloons that would stand into the top of the cake.
I was thinking I would shape them out of fondant and then stick them on floral wire. But I am not to sure if this is the best way to create them.

An easy way would be to shape fondant around a tootsie roll pop.

Have you made cake balls? They are usually about an inch to an inch and a half.
http://www.bakerella.com/category/pops-bites/cake-pops/ has wonderful ones, that could be shaped as balloons.

Well, if you are going to use a lollipop, why don't you just dip it in colored chocolate, or the Wilton wafers?
