I just received an airbrush and haven't had the chance to play with it yet (as the compressor hasn't arrived yet!). Anyway, I have a hockey cake I'm doing at the end of the month and what I'd like to do is spray the cake black so it looks like a hockey puck. My plan is just for a buttercream cake, but then I was thinking, does black airbrush color have a taste to it? If I spray the entire buttercream cake(just an 8") black, will it taste funky? Or should I throw a layer of MMF over it, spray it black and tell the client (who is also a friend, thus the leeway with the cake design) to just not eat the MMF?
I would GREATLY appreciate any insight into this.
Thanks!
Hillary
