And it was for a cake. I dont sell cakes yet icon_sad.gif

I sell cookies, and cake truffle and all kinds of home made candy. But not cakes... yet.

I am just not comfortable with my skill level yet.

My hubby and bf think i should have taken it anyways........

was I wrong to turn her down?

Is it a design that you can do? What scares you about the order?

I have taken several cakes over the last two years that scared me to death, but I got through them and came out the other end with a much stronger sense of my capabilities.

You won't know if you can do it if you don't try!

well my main issue right now is that i have alot on my plate with my farmers markets right now ( im in 3)

And i also dont have my pricing down, I so dont want to be one of those people who accept an order without knowing what to charge.

And if im not confident in my work yet, how can the customer?

Its not that it scares me, its that honestly, i am not ready to make cakes for anyone yet lol

Hi sweetheart! CustomCreationsCupcakes here.LOL Small world. Is the cake a difficult one?? I have only been taking cupcake orders as I doubt myself as well but I think I just have to bite the bullet and give it a shot! You never know till you try. Your cookies are amazing so you obviously have the talent!

No problem and I completely understand. I had someone approach me last minute to do a cake that was crazy for someone who just doesn't do them I ended up convincing him to do cupcakes and said it was because of time limitations not because of a lack of confidence.

I attached a pic of the cake he wanted it and these are the cupcakes I did do. (sorry it won't allow me to attach the pic of the cupcakes)

you have to start somewhere...and the more practice you get, the better your skill becomes..I have taken on many a cakes where I just wasn't quite sure what to do. But, in the end I surprised myself..
