I have a whole batch of regular buttercream icing in my freezer that I want to use to make my mom a mother's day cake. I think everyone is sick of my chocolate cake and my regular white cake. What cake can I bake that will go really well with the icing, keeping in mind that my mom's tastes are very basic.
How about flavouring the cake and bc with lemon or coffee? It can be as strong as you want. Or have a fruit filling and use the bc as a dam and frosting.
