I use the MMF recipe on her in the Articles section, totally love that recipe. I made 3/16 inch petals, and have them drying in the flower formers since Monday night. I just checked, 2.5 days later, and I can still lift the edges and bend them. They are getting hard, but taking forever.
How long does it usually take? I want to put them on a cake tomorrow but now I'm thinking when I stick them on with buttercream they are going to completely lose their shape.
I know it has been warmer here, and the air conditioners are not in yet, and so it is REALLY warm inside the house. Is that what's taking them so long to harden?
I don't think MMF alone will ever get hard enough. I believe that most people who make fondant flowers actually mix in some gumpaste so that they dry stiffer - something like 50% fondant and 50% gumpaste or all gumpaste for very firm decorations.
