I have an order for a Belly cake this weekend. I've never made one before, and it seems like everytime i make something new, i always find something that doesn't work as i expected it to. SO i just wanted some suggestions on what unexpected issues i may run into with making this one! It will be a belly cake covered in fondant, on top of a sheet cake frosted in buttercream.

Make sure you put the belly on a cake board and trim the fondant the way you want it to look before you put it on the buttercream sheetcake. I used a metal bowl for the belly and 2 smaller tapered ramikins for the breasts it really was easier to do than I thought.
