i need to make a toy story cake and i'm going to be the famous bed in andy's room. now the wood grain floor isn't necessary but i love the way it looks... so my question is... is it done in fondant? i've never covered a board in fondant?? do i just cut it to size then put some buttercream and lay it on top? what about the edges?
for the wood grain do i start out with brown fondant? please help... is there any way to paint it on the cake board or some kind of paper? probably not i guess?
this is the cake:
