I had the same question. I was trying to make a shoe and I think I put too much tylose to my fondant because my the shoe just broke. I the only reason that I could think of is that I put too much tylose.

How do you know how mucho to put?

Thanks guys. Someone else told me 1 tsp to 1 lb of fondant. Does this sound right?

I would say about a teaspoon and a 1/4 to be on the safe side. I teach Wilton Classes and we add 1 tsp of Gum Tex to 1/2 box (12 oz) of fondant. HTH.

Sorry if I am being a little off topic, but do you add the Tylose powder to already made fondant and knead it tI have some leftover fondant and wanted to make some flowers, but fondant won't hold in this weather, so I was dreading having to make a batch of gumpaste for a few flowers. If I can add the Tylose to it, it will be great.

Yes, l_m_mena, You add the tylose to the already made fondant and knead it . Let it set up before using. The amts. given from the other posters are good. So go by what they say for the amt. of tylose to fondant.hth
