Hi Ben's mama,

cake balls are simple. Take leftover cake or make a cake and crumble it finely in a bowl with clean hands. Add some icing to make it moist. then shape teaspoonfuls into a ball. I place them on waxed paper in the fridge to harden. then dip into melted chocolate. The combos are amazing.

Pumpkin cake with white chocolate
Red Velvet cake with white chocolate
Choc Cake with White choc
Orange cake in Chocolate
Choc Cake in Choc

never ending combos.....

What she said - except I dip mine in melted candy coating instead of chocolate.

I have used candy coatings from Michaels too. Especially to get specific colors. Red and green for christmas, orange for Halloween, pink and blue for showers. etc.

i explained how i made the cake balls at a party last saturday to another attendee. i had to repeat myself several times that "i put the cake in a food processor" ... she was so surprised, practically dumbfounded, at such a notion!
