Nestle Caramel Loaf

Bought some Nestle Caramel in a "loaf" which I usually use to make some chocolate candies, but want to use it for cakes. Does anyone use this for cakes, icings, or fillings? I would love to do a caramel pecan cake filling with it but worry about it getting too thick and hard once cooled!

Any ideas or recipes using this would be appreciated...
