Good morning all! I have 2 Star Wars cakes to do this weekend and the mother just made an interesting request. On on eof the cakes she wants me to incorporate the date of birth and age. The boy is going to be 5 and was born on 5-5-05. I was going to do Darth Vadar on one and the logo on the other, but not sure how to add the DOB and age without it looking strange. Any ideas???
Jen
Well...I don't think it will look strange if that is what the mother requested....Maybe you could use funky tappits or cooky lettering so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
you know, you could put it on the logo cake kind of like the opening credits to the movie. You know how the tex scrolls up the screen? Id' do the logo like that and put the other information with it. I think I'd put the date and age first though, since the bottom needs be large to keep the proportions right. I think a giant date and age woudl look silly.
Just a thought...could you put the date and age around the sides of the cake, so it doesn't interfere with the planned design for the tops?
I'd do a small plaque on the side of the ship so it looks like it's part of the ship that reads: "Stardate: 5-05-05" or on the cake board maybe.....

Ack no! Stardates are for Star Trek and this is Star Wars. It's kinda like Ghost Busters: Don't cross the streams!

It would be bad. . . .

Thanks for the good laugh! and thanks for the great ideas girls. I was kind of thinking about the whole title sequence in the movie too. We will see what I can come up with. Thanks again!!
