Our church is hosting a cake challenge for the youth at our church. I need some ideas for easy themes. The contestants range from 6th to 12th grade. They will be auctioning off the cakes afterwards to raise money for a mission trip. They have a four hour time limit on this challenge. Please give me a few themes that they might could handle. Now if I can just find a few local cake celebrities to make it feel authentic for them.

I'm thinking flowers. They can be very simply done and even bad flowers are not ugly. Easy for the not so talented.

How about the first 7 days of creation? That way you could get a variety of cakes and cover all skill levels.

Take pics- I love to see how kids interpret whatever theme you choose.

I will definately take pics. Keep the ideas coming, it does not have to be church related either. It can be any theme, just something simple enough they can mkae in 4 hours.

What about cartoons? The kids could interpret their favorite cartoons in cake, cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants etc which kids would have no problem doing from memory.

Also you could do favorite food, cakes that look like hamburgers, pizza, etc. that I think kids would also love.

Not sure when you're holding this but what about - 'What I want to do on my summer vacation'? I was just thinking that kids might get into that theme icon_smile.gif
