I've been asked to do a childs birthday cake based on a popular cartoon. I won't do the characters outright b/c I know that this will be a copyright violation (and I won't be granted permission)...but what I want to know is if I make a hexagon shaped cake with just the character colors and eyes is that too much? I mean seriuosly...can you copyright eyes and colors?

Thanks either way!

Its probably fine, just remember that using a "likeness" can still be considered infringing upon a copyright/trademark

Are you selling the cake? If not don't worry about it.
