So I finally figured out my lightbox after many adjustments. I built one from PVC and a $2 bed sheet from walmart. I was using a background and was not happy with the results. So tonight I cleaned off my table in my "office" put it about 4 inches from the wall (a neutral tan color) I used one light shining up from below that is behind the cake. 2 laps from above and 1 on each side. I am attaching some pictures I took of display cakes I have and of the "lightbox". Hope this helps some people. I got 3 of the lamps on clearance at walmart and then 2 of them I already had.

I love the almost halo-like look you get from the bottom light. Thanks so much for showing your setup.

Thank you so much for sharing how you did it.

Thank you! I made a lightbox but it is too small for cakes or anything bigger than a few cupcakes. I will definitely have to borrow your idea and make a tabletop version! BTW, what wattage are your light bulbs?
