So my friend and I had a birthday/crawfish boil party for a couple friends and this is the cake we made for them. We made two crawfish plus some corn and potatos.

the crawfish was made with a football cake pan for the body, cut outs from a sheet cake for the claws and half of a 10" round for the tail.

We used little black candies for the eyes and pull apart twizlers for the legs and whiskers.

For the corn we used tiny cutouts of cake covered with yellow icing and then covered with lemon jelly belly jelly beans. The potatos we made with small pieces of cake and covered with brown fondant. However......these were accidentally thrown away so at the last minute we had to use real potatos! ha

One of the cakes was red velvet so we used cream cheese icing on this one. It was more difficult to decorate the body with this since it was a lot softer than buttercream.

The other crawfish was chocolate with buttercream icing.

For the board we used cardboard covered with newspaper and saran wrap (to make it look like a true crawfish boil).

Let us know what you think! THis cake was really a lot of fun to make, Thanks for looking!
