I have looked over tons a recipes here and there and can not find a perfect cake recipe for slicing to include in a BBQ plate. Our Cub Scouts asked for me to make up to 10 -20 cakes for this saturday . My traditional cake recipes are not cutting it. Anyone have a bomb proof recipe they would be willing to share. I can't help you with a scratch recipe, but I thought I would share anyway.

For a light summer cake, I use a box mix and add a small box of instant pudding and one extra egg. I bake it in a pretty Bundt pan and pour a powdered sugar glaze (sometimes with added flavor) on top.

Easy to cut and less messy to serve.

You could always do cupcakes, unless they are dead set on cakes. This way no slicing, less mess and they can fit right on top of the plate.
