(1) How far ahead can I - make, sculpt, and decorate with MMF the RKT piece?

(2) Has anyone found success in unsing somethign other than Rice Krispies?

I've made RK treat objects and covered them in Michelle Foster fondant up to a week ahead of time (had a snow storm that postponed the cake, but I had already made the RK portion). Not sure how it tasted, but the RK gets pretty hard. We also use modeling chocolate a lot for diff shapes instead of the RK treats. HTH
