I am making my first castle cake using the Wilton Castle Cake Set and it is due Sunday afternoon. My questions are:

1. How far in advance can I do the outlining of the windows, doors and roof area?
2. Do I use buttercream for the outlining or am I supposed to use royal icing?
3. Do I use buttercream to cover the peaks of the turrets?

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Thanks Jan, That gives better instruction that what came with the kit. From what I read, I understand that I should use royal icing for the trim work and such.

Thanks again.
