Just wondered how to keep this icing a true purple. I've heard that keeping the icing out of direct light always helps.

Keeping it out of the light will help, but over time--even a day, or so--it will still fade a little.

I find that if I put luster dust on it--dry brush or airbrushed on--it acts like a sunscreen and helps a lot.

I only use Crystal Colors (sugarpaste.com) dry colors or Chef Master no-fade purple now and don't have fading issues with my pink (Chef Master no fade pink) or purple anymore.

Thanks! I think I just might try your idea.
