Color Flow - 1/2 Recipe

Is it possible to make a 1/2 recipe of color flow without ruining it? I only need to make a couple small pieces and don't want to waste a whole pound of sugar.

How much water? I'm guessing 2 cups sugar and 1 tbsp color flow, but how much water? 6 tsp?
