Hi there,

I am newish to cake decorating and have really only done mud cakes and pound cakes covered in fondant.

I have a friend who would like a banana cake covered in fondant. Do you think it would taste? I will torte the middle and put cream cheese filling and then cover in buttercream then cover with the fondant.

Do you think this would taste ok, or is it to much (to many different flavours)?

Thanks heaps

It will taste fine. I cover most all of my cakes in fondant, no matter what flavor they are.

I just did a banana cake covered in fondant and it was pretty good. I actually added a little banana flavoring to the fondant and it tasted like banana Laffy Taffies!!

Agree you can flavor the fondant to match the cake. Or if you use vanilla fondant, that taste goes fine with just about everything.
