I'm doing a cake for a going away party for a dear friend that is leaving for 2 months to be treated for Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. I was given complete design control so I wanted to do something different and am doing a 2 tier topsy turvy and am icing it in buttercream. I have it all carved and crumbcoated. My question is has anyone ever iced it after stacking it? I know I can refrigerate it decorated and then stack it but I'm just thinking stacking then icing would be a little less worrisome with the decorations. And any additional advice you want the throw out there will be great. Thanks!!

I've tried it, not on a TT but straight tiered. I really didn't like the end results. I would ice, then stack, then decorate. Good luck with whichever method you use!
