I can only find this done on fondant cakes. Does anyone here know how to paint the leopard print onto buttercream? Or any other technique to do leopard print on buttercream? Thanks in advance!

I haven't tried any of the animal print stencils but here is a link to Designer Stencils leopard print stencil. I do zebra stripes out of fondant on buttercream and I believe I have seen leopard print done that way probably on here. Good luck!

I don't think that you can do it on bc, I KNOW you can't on IMBC/SMBC but you might be able to do it on a crusting bc. I had someone ask me this once but I talked them into doing fondant zebra stripes on a bc background.

Sorry, I'm not much help on this one. I did a leopard in fondant, it's in my photos - but I would never attempt in bc.

Best wishes, and welcome to CC!

You can paint leopard spots on a crusting buttercream, it just won't look quite as crisp/clean as on fondant. I just did one for my daughter's birthday last weekend, which I just uploaded to my photos. She wanted blue, so we colored the buttercream teal and then painted the middle of the spots with wilton teal icing color thinned a little with vodka. Then the outside of the spots was wilton black. For regular leopard spots, I would do wilton brown for the center. The trick is to use a very light touch so you don't push into the icing and disturb the crust. Also, don't get a lot of liquid on the brush at a time because if you do it will bead up and dry splotchy.

I've done it on crusting buttercream with gold luster dust and black petal dust mixed in some vanilla or lemon extract. Here's the link to it:
