I've had great results with the Americolor Soft Gel Paste. I've used Super Red and Super Black. The only time I needed a dark blue, I used Wilton Royal Blue and added some Super Black to darken it. HTH!

For really dark colors, I prefer to purchase pre-colored fondant as adding lots of gel coloring and all that handling causes the fondant to become sticky and sometimes it ends up being overworked.

I prefer to purchase the pre-colored fondant also....it is well worth the extra $$ - it doesn't have any bitter taste and handles perfectly...
