I need to make a Harley Davidson cake next weekend. I have never made chocolate mmf before and I was wondering how dark does it get? Will it get close to black? Does any one have any suggestions?

The chocolate MMF I have made uses cocoa powder and it only gets as dark as the cocoa. You could then add black gel color to it and you wouldn't have to add as much to get to black as you would to plain MMF. I usually use satin ice black mixed with 1/2 homemade MMF for my black. It is just much easier than working in all that black gel color! Good luck!

I use Rhonda's True Black MMF recipe (search for it in recipes here on CC). Just made some last week...its VERY easy and not near as messy as using black gel coloring!
