I'm making a 3 tiered chocolate cake for my daughters 1st birthday. And I'm looking for a sturdy chocolate cake recipe.

I use different chocolate cake recipes.. one is a triple chocolate fudge cake and the other is a chocolate velvet pound cake. Both are pretty study and I have stacked cakes with both recipes and had no problems. Let me know if you need me to PM you with the recipes.

I use the 3 D Durable Cake receipe found in the "most saved" receipes on cc. When I make chocolate I sub 3/4 of the water with chocolate syrup. It makes a very rich, dense chocolate cake that holds up very well for stacking or carving. Although I've stacked straight box mix cakes before. The seceret to stacking is your support system more than the cake thumbs_up.gif
