Pregnant Belly Cake- Which Pans Best?
Decorating By cakesrock Updated 21 Apr 2010 , 4:35pm by cakebaker1957
I'm wondering what is best to use for the pregnant belly cake? I've seen cupcakes or Wilton wonder molds used for the breasts in my searches through the forums.
I was planning on using a 1/2 soccer ball for the belly and cupcakes for the breasts (I don't own the wonder mold pans but would consider buying).
My biggest concern is: will this combo look proportionate??
Also, I need 15 servings -I'm assuming this will be close enough?
I have the option of supplementing with additional cupcakes.
TIA
I use the sports ball pan and the wilton mini wonder mold pan. I have heard of people using cupcakes but I would think you would have to carve them, the wondermold pan is the right shape, you just trim off the bottom to get the boobs the size you want. I have a few in my pics if you want to see the proportions.
If you dont have the pans you can also bake in bowls. I am baking a belly cake as we speak and the boobies were baked in a bowl and the belly I used a salad bowl. Other CC'ers have also baked in bowls with success
