Covering Cake Boards

I was wonder what everyone uses to cover their cake boards. I have use the fancy foil. I have covered in fondant. But i notice ppl covering in different things and cant figure out what. I tried wrapping paper and got grease marks...HELP

If you use wrapping paper you have to cover it with clear contact paper. I also cover some of mine with material and the clear paper. I also use freezer paper (shiny side up) but since it's food safe no need to cover it with anything else.

We use royal icing or fondant. We just read recently where some cover the board with chocolate.
