Chocolate Swirl Wasc ?

Hello all, first time posting. My daughter is turning 4 in a few weeks. When I asked her what kind of cake she wanted, she said she wanted a chocolate vanilla swirl cake. Of all those that I've tried they all taste dry, and I really LOVE the White Almond Sour Cream cake that most of us on cake central know about.

Well, have any of you taken that recipe and taken some of it and added chocolate syrup or cocoa powder to make it chocolate and swirled it into the cake?

Would anyone suggest that or my other thought was to add chocolate syrup to top of the cake before I put it in the oven and swirl that through the batter. What do you all think? Any suggestions?
