I've been asked to make a basketball sweet 16 cake. She doesn't want fondant. How do i get the texture of a basketball on buttercream? Thank you for all the help icon_smile.gif

i use a cheap brand of paper towel. that has like little indentions in it . i use it on football with b/c also. usually at dollar store . but have seen in some grocery stores. let icing set up. press with this. works great. hth

I do the same buy a napkin or paper towel with the impression you want or they have impression matts for lots of money.

I meant to add , make sure it's crusted first or it will pull the icing off.
