I need to insert a center dowel and I did not cut a hole in the cake boards that sit under the top layer or the drum (its only a 2 tier, but I am traveling 4 hours with it). I am petrified that the dowel will not push through the boards and it will be a disaster. Do most of you have problems with this, or am I worrying for nothing?
sharpen the dowel with a pencil sharpener and use a hammer to tap it into the cake, you'll see JUST how easy it goes in!!! It's ok!!! : )
