As crazy as it sounds, yes a little girls dream is to have a cake with hills, sunset, a horse, flowers and a barn. Looking for ideas CC buddies. I have been looking in the gallery, so I have some ideas, but wanted your opinion. My first thought when asked to do this cake was a 2 layer 10" round, but I am thinking I will have to resort to a sheet cake instead.

Thanks in advance.

Not crazy at all. Little girls love horses. If you don't want to make all that by hand (wicked expensive for a child's bday) look at the plastic "farm" toys at Michaels or HL. My DGS has some and IMO would be great for cake decos. Don't think they are food safe, so would need to have FS barrier between the figures and the icing.

Can you tell me what to use as a FS barrier?

Food Safe Barrier...

coat the part that touches the cake with chocolate or candy melts etc.

What would you use for a FS barrier? Material?

A tiered one could work, though. There was a cake on this morning that had a sunset effect. All you would have to do is make/paint the dark shadow figures. Like do a basic cutout of a horse in black to apply to your sunset painted cake. I think it would be fairly simple and yet look pretty cool. HTH!
